The Healthy Teaching Kitchen (HTK) online program provides live, virtual cooking classes for Veterans to increase nutrition knowledge, cooking skills, and build confidence in cooking at home with healthy, minimally processed foods.

Are you a family member or friend caregiving or supporting a Veteran with PTSD and want to learn skills to better weather challenges that arise?
The REACH VA Telephone Support Group Program can help you.
Caregiving can be very challenging. The REACH VA Telephone Support Group Program teaches valuable skills in a group format to help with problem solving, stress management, and positive thinking. The Telephone Support Group Leader works with a group of family caregivers to learn better ways to deal with challenges and find time to care for you, as well.
The REACH VA Telephone Support Group Program will be offered by the Portland VA Medical Center by our certified group leaders Amber Lynch, LCSW, and Erin Dougherty, LCSW. To participate in this program, it is required that the Veteran to be enrolled in the VA, and the caregiver to complete a brief phone intake and enrollment forms. Veteran’s that are serving in the caregiving role for a loved one with PTSD are also eligible for this program.
When: 10:30-12:00 on Dec. 2nd, Dec 16th, Jan. 6th 20th, Feb. 3rd and Feb. 17th
Early registration encouraged due to the need to mail materials to participants.

» Offer your body, your nervous system and mind, the opportunity to rest deeply, and restore.
» This class can be taken on the floor, or bed, or comfy and supported chair.
» As we are not moving our bodies during this class, it may be helpful for you to have a blanket available and a pillow or two to support your head and knees.
» The goal of this class is to let your body (muscles, bones and tissues) relax while staying awake. Practicing this form of rest supports your resilience.
