Fly Fishing Workshops - Project Healing Waters (Vancouver)

This is a non-VA activity run by the non-profit group Project Healing Waters and managed by registered VAPORHCS Volunteers.  Project Healing Waters has a national Memorandum of Agreement with the VA to work together to help Veterans.
 
Whether you are a novice or an experienced fly fisherman, all veterans are invited to sign up for these workshops.
 
At the workshops Veterans will learn fly fishing techniques, develop skills, and just talk about fishing. The group will tie flies and teach techniques to catch fish.

Fly Fishing Workshops - Project Healing Waters (Portland)

This is a non-VA activity run by the non-profit group Project Healing Waters and managed by registered VAPORHCS Volunteers.  Project Healing Waters has a national Memorandum of Agreement with the VA to work together to help Veterans.
 
Whether you are a novice or an experienced fly fisherman, all veterans are invited to sign up for these workshops.
 
At the workshops Veterans will learn fly fishing techniques, develop skills, and just talk about fishing. The group will tie flies and teach techniques to catch fish.

Two groups with eight-week of sessions will run with start dates of: August 29 & October 24, 2019.

Call for an initial meeting with a group leader will be setup to see if this group is a good match for you (see details below).

The meetings will be scheduled Thursdays from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Class topics covered over 8 sessions on strategies for reducing PTSD symptoms:
? The 8-week group focuses on SKILLS and TOOLS that can be used every day to help manage PTSD symptoms.
? Topics include reducing anxiety, managing trauma memories, improving sleep, reducing avoidance, coping with nightmares, and much more!
? This program is here-and-now focused. We DO NOT recount trauma details in groups; we DO support women who may be doing that in individual therapy.
? We focus on ways to help improve quality of life. You can be a trauma survivor AND have a life!
