Using a cell phone, it takes just moments to answer six questions to come up with a screen like the one in the picture above. Simply show the screen on your phone to VA staff as you enter the facility and they will provide you a "SCREENED" sticker.

As you enter any VA facility, now there is a way to speed up the screening process by using the online screening tool! You can use this prior to your arrival and it is valid for the day. It takes less than a minute to complete.

During the month of July 2020, VAPORHCS screeners screened over 3,500 Veterans, their caregivers and employees each day. As you may know, this can slow down entrances into the facility. This feature does not mean you can bypass the line, but it will help reduce wait times.

The screening tool can be accessed via website at https://www.va.gov/covid19screen/ or by texting the word “SCREEN” to 53079 or scan a dedicated QR code with their mobile phone to get a link to the tool.

Using a cell phone, it takes just moments to answer six questions to come up with a screen like the one in the picture above. Simply show the screen on your phone to VA staff as you enter the facility and they will provide you a "SCREENED" sticker.

In addition to helping reduce wait times, This new tool can lower exposure risk, and, perhaps, ease stress a bit.

If you choose to use this tool, please do so the day you go to a VA facility and show the screen to staff when you arrive at the screening station.

The six questions are;
- Are you a VA employee or contractor?
- In the past 24 hours, have you had a fever?
- In the past 7 days, have you had a cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing that's new or getting worse?
- In the past 3 days, have you had any of these symptoms?

◾Fever or feeling feverish (chills, sweating)
◾Fatigue (feeling tired all the time)
     ◾Muscle or body aches
     ◾Headache
◾New loss of smell or taste
     ◾Sore throat
     ◾Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Do you currently have a runny nose or nasal congestion?
- In the past 14 days, have you had close contact with someone who you know was diagnosed with COVID-19?
